U.S. News & World Report Ranks HackensackUMC as the
Number One Hospital in NJ

- One of the Top Three New York Metro Area Hospitals

Dear Doctor,

I am incredibly proud to announce that HackensackUMC has been ranked as the number one hospital in New Jersey and one of the top three New York metro area hospitals in the 2013-14 U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings. HackensackUMC climbed in rank from number four to three, and we also received 10 national rankings—up one from the 2012-13 lists. To be ranked as one of the top three in the New York metro area, among some of the best hospitals in the world, is truly an honor. Best Hospital rankings, now in their 24th year, recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients.

HackensackUMC received nine national rankings in: Cancer, Cardiology & Heart Surgery; Ear, Nose & Throat; Gastroenterology & GI Surgery; Geriatrics; Neurology & Neurosurgery; Orthopedics; Pulmonology; and Urology. These rankings are in addition to the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital recently being named among the top 50 Best Children’s Hospitals for neurology and neurosurgery in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2013-14 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. The medical center was also listed as high-performing in the New York metro area in: Diabetes & Endocrinology; Gynecology; and Nephrology.

I thank each and every member of our HackensackUMC team for providing clinically excellent, compassionate care to our patients. Take pride in knowing that you have directly contributed to our success and reputation as one of the finest medical centers in the nation.
